I've been on lithium for 4 days and wondering how important it is to eat with dosage. I drink plenty of water but I normally eat 2 meals a day. Thanks in advance, this is my first question post :)
I've been taking lithium (1200 mg/day) for 42 yrs and I haven't had any issues with food intake. Hope Lithium works for you as well as it's been working for me! Don't stray away from your dosage and you'll live a normal, productive life!
Hi, Said! Lithium can be taken with/without food but you need to be sure to stay well hydrated. Lots of fluids throughout the day.
And remember, you'll need several blood tests to determine if your level is within therapeutic range.
I took lithium for years and it was my wonder drug! I hope it works as well for you... it's the gold standard and only true mood stabilizer.
Best regards, Wildcat
