Once lithium is discontinued, how long does it take to be completely out of the body?

Tapering off takes a few weeks. If you're already down to zero the half-life of lithium in the body is generally 14-24 hours or 48 for chronic treatment. With that half life it would probably take a few more days - a week to be completely out of your body.
