I was out of town and havent taken my lisinopril 20mg in about 8-10 days. Ive monitored my bp and its been good. Around 130/74 3 days ago. I am back home now. Is it OK for me to jump back into taking it this evening?
I would not begin taking your Lisinopril again until you speak with your doctor ASAP.
First off, if you haven't taken your Lisinopril for 8 to 10 days and you're BP is within normal range then "maybe" you don't need it.
Second, since it's been 8 to 10 days since you've taken any Lisinopril it's already out of your system. Therefore, it's imperative that you speak with your doctor ASAP before restarting the medication because you might now need a different dose than before?
Call the doctor ASAP tell them the "truth" that you missed at least a week of Lisinopril and what do you recommend I do?
Also, for people who take meds round the clock it is best to always carry a weeks supply on your person. Whether you keep it in your pocket book or in a carry-all case it's always best to be prepared for the unexpected.
