So my boyfriend and I had sex last night. We used a condom, but it broke. We were using the condom as a precautionary measure because I starting taking birth control almost two weeks ago. I'm on ortho tri cyclen and started the Monday after my period. I had taken twelve pills before it happened and took my thirteenth right after it happened, because it was the time of day I was supposed to take it. I went to the pharmacy and took Plan B about an hour and a half after it all happened to be extra safe because I'm not sure if my BC had started to take effect yet. The reason I'm so worried is because it happened during the time of the month that I'd usually be ovulating and I'm not sure if the pill had enough time to prevent ovulation from occurring. If someone could answer me, that would be much appreciated. Thank you!
No no no, you do not take plan B when you're on the pill. You were protected after the first week. Plan B is not magic, its not an extra safety method when you're on the pill. On the pill you do not ovulate that is the main way it works, all plan B does is delay ovulation. What it is is a huge dose of hormones that is going to screw up your cycle for the next month.
