My boyfriend has severe Pectus Excavatum that has caused health problems and he is awaiting a long overdue corrective surgery. He inherited it from his father and grandfather, and his sister also has a mild case. As far as I know, I do not have any cases in my family and it is only a problem on his paternal side of the family. I am worried that because it seems to run in the family that our children may suffer from it as well, should we chose to have any. Can anyone tell me the likelihood that our child would inherit PE?
