Or just during flare ups? It works very well for me. I see it is a strong anti inflammatory drug, making me think during times when the intestinal track is not inflamed, perhaps it isn't needed. The reason I ask it is, it is very expensive $1500 for 90 day supply, so anything to "stretch it out" a bit would help.
I was told that I should keep taking it. The reasoning is that flare ups can be hard to control. If you avoid them, you are stopping the problem before it starts. My Dr. has dropped my dose down to 2 pills daily (which is 1/2 what is was.) I take that. I never want to deal with what I dealt with in 2010 again!!
I take two a day which is called maintenance.
