Bigarade; Has the doctor been already slowly tapering you off of the Klonopin to help before the switch. what happens is this does help with anxiety and panic attacks but if the doctor did not tell you many people get worse for the first 1 or 2 weeks plus if the doctor did not taper you down on the Klonopin that could make it even worse. But you well get through it. If it does get to bad go back and talk to the doctor again. anyway normally between 10 and 14 days you start to fell the increase in anxiety start to go away. Many people also are given some Klonopin to help get through this period. But you can do it after the couple weeks you slowly start to feel better by the week, until you get up to 6 or 8 weeks and that is when the medication reaches a blood level and should give you more comfort than the Klonopin did before if it helps you. But I am going to repeat if you were not tapered down from the Klonopin and it is just too much anxiety you call the doctors office to see if you can get some Klonopin to help you get through the worse part which is the first 2 weeks. Because taking 4mg for 5 years they know they should not just drop it. Hope this well help you some stay strong this medication does help many people good luck and keep thinking positive. Chuck1957

Just want to remind you this is normal to have your symptoms increase for the first week or two meaning the same was you are trying to control that is the hard part about Lexapro and some of the others but just remember each day is a day closer to with much luck feeling better than you have in a while.
