I hope you are doing well.I am 52Y M,I suffer the anxiety and recurrent brief depression.I have taken Cipralex 20mg for two years. So far it was good but currently I consider this medication doesn't have more effect because my anxiety and depression came back..I want to know whether I continue taking Cipralex or quit it?
Lexapro - Quit or continue Cipralex 20 mg, or decrease or increase dosage?

Hi, Ramin! Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for antidepressant/anxiolytics to stop working efficiently after long term use. Esitalopram's maintenance dose is 10-20mg/day so you don't have much room for an increase although your doctor could prescribe a slightly higher dose.
Another option would be switching to another medication although you'd need to slowly taper off the Cipralex while starting the new drug or taking both drugs concurrently..
You might discuss with your doctor an *add-on* like aripipraxole which is an anti-psychotic which acts on depression and anxiety in it's own right but also boosters the effectiveness of antidepressants it's taken with.
It's just my opinion but contuing Cipralex alone isn't going to help you.
