I'm on 20 mg of Lexapro and it works great. My Dr also gave me 50mg on trazodone to help with my insomnia. Unfortunately the trazodone hasn't really worked great, I take it around 11 and still it takes me a few hours to fall asleep. I'm wondering if 100 mg would be safe to take.
I am on my 10th day of Lexapro 10 and take 50 mgs of trazodone which works well for me, but I do no people who do need 100mgs of trazodone
How long did it take the Lexapro to kick in?
Hi, John! There is a risk of a rare but serious interaction with these two medications. I don't know if the risk is dose related, but I'd get your doctor's professional advice before increasing to 100mgs.
Best regards and hope you can get some ZZZzzz's soon! Wildcat
I'm assuming you have tried alternatives as well.. but if not here is what I suggest.
Work out during the day to get your body tried. Even if it's just going for walks. Try warm bath before bed. I take SleepyTime herbal tea before bed which doesn't have caffeine. Warm milk before bed helps too. Also, Melatonin. Or even CBD oil if you are interested. I've been doing many of these to help with my anxiety and insomnia issues.
My story, I'm trying to taper off Lexapro 20mg and it's been horrible.. My doctor gave me Trazodone 50mg bc I keep getting night sweats and insomnia for a week straight. I took Trazodone for 1 night to get my sleep schedule in check. And after that I've been doing all the alternatives as I mentioned above. (I just didn't want to be dependent on another pharmaceutical medication). But that's just my opinion.
Hopefully the alternatives help! Even with taking the Trazodone.
