I wouldn't take miralax. That's stuff is pure poison!
Thyroid med is first thing in the morning with a full glass of water. Moral ax and most laxatives contain magnesium products. You don't take that with thyroid until later in the day. And I agree. You would do much, much better with a fiber supplement. There are various ones and your pharmacist will tell you what is best. Just because it is found in a box or bottle in a store doesn't mean it is safe or good to take. The fiber stuff may seem yucky but is very effective. In the meantime increase fruits, veggies and whole flours, oatmeal and such. Even on narcotics it will be better. Don't forget the water. Lots and lots of fresh water. Soda and coffee dehydrates. Water.
Miralax is safe if its a one time thing. They do tell you not to use it for more then two weeks. It is best if this is a chronic problem to get enough fluid, exercise, and fiber.
Yikes! I take both and never thought about it. I'm new to taking the Levothyroxine and thyroid problems so it didn't even occur to me. My gastroenterologist has me using Miralax but that's before I was put on my thyroid med.
Thanks for the heads up!
