Aspirin, ibuprofen and the others Kaismama listed are all blood thinners along within warfarin and cumin and other known blood thinners.
General instructions are to stop all NSAIDs at least two days before any surgery or tooth extraction. All medications including over the counter should be reported to the nurse on the day of your surgery whether inpatient or outpatient. That includes any food, even coffee, juice, that you had within twelve hours of the surgery. Water is often included in that as well.
Sorry the first surgery was stopped and you will have to go through it again. However, yo will now be better prepared for the next time. And that was one sharp surgeon who protected you.
