You don't have to take the inactive pills, they are just there to keep you taking a pill every day. Your period will come any time during the week you are off the active pills.
No, you dont have to take them, they are inert, meaning there is no drug in them BUT I do encourage you to use them, at least pop them out each day, even if you just throw them away, to count the days to start your next pack. If you dont start your new pack on time, it is the same as missing pills. Do not go from one packs active pills to the next packs active pills, skipping the peach ones (and your period) more often than once or twice a year-you can do it for a special occasion like a vacation, etc. but keep in mind skipping a period doesnt always work. Your period can start any day that week and may not always be the same day each month.
