Hurts worse when I first stand to walk.
Sorry, but it sounds for the life of me, like Avascular Necrosis (AVN). When mine started it felt like a groin strain. 8 months later I got an X-ray and then an MRI and they confirmed the head of my femur was rotting and that there were patches of necrosis extending down the neck of the top of the femur.
It is most prominent in men who drink between 40 to 50 years old.
