I understand your concern about your mother. Apparently, since you are calling it a 'liver cyst', someone has determined that it is in fact a cyst and it has been biopsied and shown to be no problem at this time. Are you saying that your mother is taking 8 medications she should not be taking if she had liver disease? I believe you also stated that she is on 6 different medications for her blood pressure.
Here is a suggestion that might help you to feel better about your mother's care; write down a list of her medications and take them to the pharmacy to find out what they are for and if there are any dangerous interactions you need to let your mother know about and if so, ask the pharmacist to please call the prescribing physician to let him know of these possible interactions. Second, you might want to go to the doctor with your mother next time. Make sure you write down all of the questions you have about her liver cyst and possible liver harming medications she may be on (and ask the pharmacist too). It is your mother's right to know why the doc is giving her the meds she is on and what each is expected to do. If this doctor won't do this, find on who can.
A lot of the time, older people see a lot of doctors and one doesn't know what the other is doing. It's time all the docs, if any, had a pow wow and decided what meds she needs and which she does not.
Best of luck to you Lydia,
The Happy Hippie,
