I'm taking lorazepam (2mg every 4 hours), Effexor (225mg per day), Topomax (200 mg a day) andLamictal (800mg a day). If also just finished 10 sessions of ECT that had to be discontinued due to a series of epileptic seizures, one causes a terrible car accident. Any other anxiety medications?
Hello DWLyle. I would hazard to suggest any given names of medications. My question to you is given your medical history, does your doctor believe you need another medication for anxiety. If it cripples you to the point of being unable to leave your home, I believe your doctor might want to increase or change your medication. Regards pledge
It looks as though you are on some medications that already should help with the anxiety. Not knowing anything more about your situation I would hesitate as well to even suggest anything more for your issue but suggest that you speak with your doctor about possible dosage changes with what you have. The epileptic seizures are the scary factor here so you need to be very careful my friend. I do wish you the best of luck. I know that I am not much help but I am thinking of you and my best wishes truly go out to you.
A new Psychiatrist is honestly something to consider. Also... In my opinion if you've been a candidate for that many ECT treatments, Buspar is probably not going to be anything but a waste of time? But ask your Dr, of course. I worked in psychiatry for 17 years, I've seen medications help many people, I've seen ECT change lives, I've seen Buspar ... Ahhh usually get D/c'd. So that's my take for the penny it's worth! I wish the best!!! <3
