I have been on Latuda 40mg for a week or so. Feel the same way now starting on lithium 300mg the lowest dose of that. Tonight I had 10 or so of beers because it helps me and i enjoy it.
Connie dear you are playing with Fire! One beer might be fine but not ten. It could kick you into serotonin syndrome and put you in the hospital. Alcohol is best avoided with anxiety and Phsychiatric meds. Please cut the beer out.
Honestly, if you only drink this once in a while and I mean like twice a year, then you should be okay. I would not drink on meds every single day, because it can lead to serious health problems, like a failing liver and hypertension. It can also cause your medication to work more than it actually should and could possibly cause you to go to the hospital. Drinking in moderation and limiting intake of alcohol is a good idea when on any kind of medications or supplements.
Connie, No one should be drinking 10 beers, especially not a woman. Besides, alcohol is a depressant drug and Latuda is prescribed to fight depression. Not a wise choice!
Its not really something that you should be doing even semi regularly. How does alcohol help you? do you like beer more than you dislike the depression or bipolar disorder? if you do this regularly don't even bother with the meds cuz your just wasting money and putting extra strain on your body
Agree with everything previously said !
I hope this helps decrease the urge...
