... units at lunch, and 5 units at dinner. Accounting for priming, how many boxes should I get for a 90 day supply?
The Lantus Solostar pen has 300 units. But it is a long lasting insulin - I'm surprised that you would be taking this 3x a day. You may want to double check if this is correct. It is normally a 1x a day shot. I do take mine 2x a day, but it is 12 hours apart. To answer your question, 15 units a day would mean 1 pen would last 20 days. So you would need 5 pens (or 1 box) to last 90 days. Again, I strongly suggest you ask your doctor/prescriber again about the 3x a day for Lantus. Hope this helps. StarGlitter
