I am on gabapentin 300mg right now. I left my old physc.due to her listening problems and not caring. Could some one give advice on it. Thanks
I'm sorry you had a bad psychiatrist. That's a waste of your time and very frustrating. I hope this new one turns out to be good. I have a high opinion of lamictal.
I can help you by telling you my experience. I'm on 300 mg gabapentin 3 x day and lamictal 100 mg 2 x day, along with other drugs. I have just been diagnosed bipolar, hypomanic. For 25 years I had major depression and GAD. Now it's called BP, hypomanic... meaning I get lots of energy and have difficulty sleeping. I don't know your diagnoses, but lamictal is also used for mood stabilization in depressed persons who aren't bipolar.
Lamictal is a very easy drug to take for me. It has no side effects that I can find. It has definite mood stabilizing effects. I feel a jittery feeling inside myself when it's time for me to take lamictal. After I take it, in about 10-15 minutes that feeling is gone. How wonderful that is! But that's true for a BP person. Prior to my being diagnosed as BP, I didn't notice the effects so easily, it was a general feeling of mood stabilization, not such a quick, easy feeling.
Here's a link to people's reviews for this drug who have bipolar disorder:
They're mostly very favorable.
There are also reviews for other disorders but not ordinary depression. I'll mark this question so that if you write back with another question I'll see it and answer you. Take care.
