While we are all different and respond to medication differently, if lamotrigine is being prescribed for a mood disorder or depression, it should actually improve your functioning. Lamotrigine has relatively few side effects and is unlikely to cause one to slow down or feel like they are under the influence except to the extent that it corrects the symptoms for which one is taking it.
