I like lamictal but I am still stress & I can't take it
Sorry but I am not an expert by any means and you should rely on the advice of others that post to this board that are more qualified than me to provide you with the best guidance. With that qualifier I can say with assurance that "yes" you can. I find myself in your shoes at this point in time. I take from 1mg-1.5mg of klonopin everyday to help with anxiety. You've caught me in a transitional period where my pdoc has removed my antidepressant that helped with anxiety and just has me on depakote, lamictal and klonopin. Under this current regimen of meds I find my anxiety and stress levels skyrocketing. I can't say what will work for you but a benzo and a suitable antidepressant was somewhat working to reduce my stess levels. I recommend making a call to your docs office and getting a special appt. to discuss options. Be assertive in getting the attention you deserve and need. --- You are not alone in your suffering-you are the living body of the Shepard nailed to a tree. Peace to you my brother
Hi, b! You have many options when it comes to anxiety medications that are compatible with Lamictal, from the benzodiazipines (Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, etc.) to several SSRI and tricyclic antidepressants and beta-blockers which treat anxiety disorders very effectively.
Of course, the person you need to talk to is your prescribing doctor.
Best wishes, WCV
