I am on 400 mg split in 2 doses of 200 mg of Lamictal. While it has helped, I still have bad days of depression. Has anyone gone up to 500 mg and seen better results? Thanks for any responses!
Hi Nadia, I've never heard of Lamotrigine being used solely as an anti- depressant, but used as a mood stabilizer and anti-epileptic. Are you diagnosed with Depression or Bipolar? Why was it prescribed for you? If it's depression then it may not be what you need entirely. It's important that you are being treated by a Psychiatrist and not a regular doctor so that you are properly diagnosed and given the appropriate medication/s. If it's Bipolar the wrong meds or dose may cause mania. I'm not sure based on the info you provided so sorry for all the ? I doubt that upping your dose of Lamotrigine is going to stop the depressive days but I'm certainly not a doctor. Sure hope you get to feeling better!
