Have a 13.5 yr old "fixed" cat. Have been trying to treat him for constipation w/o much luck. I have been told, my many others, to feed him pumpkin but he won't touch the stuff even when there is no alternative of any other food. I want to use a all natural product. Dose anyone know of one that is cheap, fast and effective?
I was told that too. I'm sorry can't think of other natural substance, food. I started to give my cat my stool softner at the time I got so scared she was foaming at the mouth but the emergency vet set it was just because she didn't like the taste. I ended up getting the lactolose at the vet. Can't remember how much money it was. Your gonna have to by baby puree pumkin and force feed him with a syringe. Well if you can find the pumpkin I had trouble finding it everywhere. See my cat this one lets me do anything to her without a problem. I hope your able to do it w/o him scratching you. Well squash is in the same family as pumkin, you can fnd baby puree of tat, ask the regular doctor if that would take care of it. What about plums? plums causes diarea. Plum baby food and syringe it to him.
You could try 1/2 teaspoon mineral oil. Also, there is a place at the top of this page for veterinarian help. My dog (I used to raise and breed Jack Russell's) had an issue not too long ago with this. She is 15lbs and the vet said 1 tspn, so I would cut that in half for a cat, depending on his size of course.
