... if anyone could give any advice to prepare for the surgery and their experience with having a knee reconstruction?
I had my left knee replaced on 7/11/11. I had 2 knee scope surgeries prior to try and save it as long as they could. I have severe osteoarthritis all over. My knee was replaced at the age of 47. I know that is young but that probably helped my recovery. Of course it was very painful. However, the most important thing I must reiterate is that you must do all of the post op therapy. It is vital. I think the best way to prepare is to have faith in your doctor and do what they tell you to. Take your pain meds as prescribed to help with therapy. If I can help further, let me know. It is definately worth it. My knee is over 5 years old and it is like brand new. However, now I am trying to save the right knee with therapy. God Bless.
