I was just prescribed 0.5mg bid (2 x day) for anxiety. After I take it in about a half hour I start to feel the effects. I feel like myself, the way I should feel everyday. I feel like a better person, husband, and father. But after only 1-1.5 to 2 hrs tops I lose that feeling and am immediately overcome with anxiety, and the anxiety seems to be worse than before I started taking the medication. I even thought that maybe my dose was too low because of the lack of quality duration so I tried a double dose the for my second dose. All this did was make me tired and a little irritable and even maybe a little depressed. Do I need to give the Klonopin time to build up in my system a bit because of the longer half-life or am I just one of the few this drug won't work for.
Klonopin only relieving my anxiety for 1-1.5 hrs. (first time user)?

Just a little update for you guys. I took my klonopin today .5 mg and it actually made me very depressed and tired. I'm going to stop taking this medication and give my doc a call first thing in the morning. It's just crazy how the med worked fine the first day then gradually became less effective to now causing me depression in a span of 4 days. Klonopin is definitely not for me.
True and Ripersnifle with these medications you don't want to adjust them yourself you could get in trouble with the doctor, when you first start benzo's this class of drug it can take from a few days to a week to get used to so don't let that set you back.Klonopin does last longer in the system then most the others but you have to give yourself some time.Just be patient if anything maybe when your in to see the doctor see about if you need a increase or something else to add to the klonopin... Merry Christmas it gets better chuck1957
