My psychiatrist just prescribed me .5mg klonopin Monday and I'm supposed to take a half a one every morning but I've found myself having to take a while one later in the day for it to help. My attacks are still severe I don't know what I should do next? Help!!
I also have severe anxiety and panic attacks for which I jave been prescribed klonopin. Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right dose for you - I started at 1-2 mg per day and over tge last 12 years, my dose has been as high as 5mg/day and as low as .5/day. There have also been a couple of periods where my doc added xanax to be taken before bed for a few days to get me to sleep after a series of paricularly severe and long lasting attacks and sometimes I've taken xanax when I feel an attack coming on. Ive had other doctors during my treatment who have had me try valium and/or ativan instead or in different combos.
My point is that each of us are different and react to the different meds in the benzo class differently so the best thing that you can do is be very open with your doctor, and always use your meds as prescribed - dont take more than youre supposed to so that you find your self running out early. There is nothing worse than, benzo withdrawal! Thesr drugs are a miracle for me and many others in that they let us do life, but they are always to be respected and never to ne played with.
