Who's there a medication prescribed for malaria specifically pain pills called marilyn ? And if so how strong of a milligram pain pill are they? And if it's not a pain pill for malaria is it an antibiotic? And how many milligrams is it
Kokatoeky' I can't find any medication with that name. So have no idea the best thing you could do if you think your having problems are see a doctor and depending on the pain level let the doctor decide what type of medication would be best for the pain your having. Rarely does Malaria need a pain pill outside of Ibuprofen, Tylenol or aspirin for a bit of comfort. But anything stronger you would have to have the doctor decide what is the appropriate medication. Hope you get to feeling better.
Kokatoeky; No all of these medications are also available here or at the V.A. then I GOT TO THINKING I looked already at medications that use other names from other country's but anything given to our service men or woman are still controlled by the DEA AND center of disease control. I think what you man is talking about it LARIAM this is a anti malaria drug that has caused concern with our troops. Because of mental and psychotic problems it can cause . Here is a article written on it. hope this helps but I'm about 99% sure this is what he is talking about. (((((( Military issues guidelines
The U.S. military, which developed the drug after the Vietnam War, maintains that Lariam is safe and effective, though officials have expressed some concern and the military tells its pilots not to take Lariam.
In written guidance on the drug last year, the military urged commanders to send for a medical evaluation anyone who showed behavioral changes after taking the drug, “especially ... if they carry a weapon” — a description of nearly all U.S. troops in Iraq.
“Delay could put the service member or your unit at risk,” the guide said.
Lariam is among the drugs recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for treatment and prevention of malaria Chuck again hope this helps but you can see where someone might think they said Mariam instead of the real name Lariam. hope this clears it up. used in the Gulf, Iran and Vietnam given to lot's of our vets when they were in bad places. to prevent Malaria. feel free to let me know if any other questions!!! and please Thank you soon to be husband for serving this great COUNTRY OF OURS!!! chuck1957
