What kind of pill is described as 5 ir?

Most likely some kind of pain med. That would be the dosage and the ir is immediate release.
IR just mean immediate release. This is a short acting drug as opposed to a long acting drug or time release drug. It is often sed to describe pain meds but many meds can say IR. I would need the name of the drug to tell you for sure. 5 is likely the mg number.
