Just wondering if anyone is experience what I am with my 9 year old son. He is diagnosed with PDD NOS and has been on Metadate CD for 1 1/2 years (20mg) He has a LOT of anxiety and seems to be regressing (especially with toiling). He doesn't eat during the day and is quite thin. Sleeping is not a problem. I hesistate to increase his dosage as I don't want him to get thinner or have difficulties sleeping. Any suggestions?

Another question? Does anyone have a child who is in the 9 year old age range and has eneuresis. Would love to chat with you. My son also has "low muscle tone" and has struggled with this since he was a toddler.

and by the way his urologist prescribed oxybutynin which is doing nothing as far as daytime dryness. He is still in a pullup at night. I am only concerned about daytime dryness at the present time.
hi citymom- Don't worry, listen, there are a lot of different products (meds) that he can try, and at that age it is a lot of trial and error usually with these stimulants. It sounds like he may need to switch to another product, this one is to harsh oj his system . The doctor will know what to do, esp regarding the weight loss. That is too much for someoe his age . And, if he is sleeping a lot, that too may be a side effect worth mentioning to his doctor/ What is his demeanor? Is he lethargic, spaced out or combative? If not, and there is obvious improvement noticed, the great, tell his doctor and maybe he will add a medication to help him eat. Thanks for the question, good luck, rc4
ps. get it all dialed-in you can do it!
I agree that you need to talk to his Dr about your concerns. All of these stimulants they use will affect his appetite. I used to give my son high protein Ensure to help keep weight on. I gave it to him for a bedtime snack. He liked the chocolate flavor of Walmarts Equate equivelent for Ensure High Protein. My son never had trouble with regression though. I would really encourage you to talk to the prescribing doc.
