My daughter has a kidney transplant but is suffering from very bad hip pain and because of the transplant she is very limited to pain meds. Would taking Gabapentin be harmful to her kidney.
We are treading on dangerous territory and I hope no one gives an opinion.
There are two factors to worry about :
- Acute kidney damage
- Tolerating a med but having long term deteriorating effects.
#2 - How do you know that she is having nerve pain which Gabapentin is only effective for.
Believe I am not sympathetic to your needs. Please go to your doctor (the nephrogist only) for such important advice.
I have kidney disease and had a med prescribed that didn't show a big drop until a year.
Get her some pain meds from the nephrologist.
