I have very bad anxiety to the point were I cant breathe I used to take zanax for it but now I cant. So I want to try something else if possible.
I would advise strongly against this. there is little known about the effects of ketamine on the unborn. You will need to wait for that treatment after your baby is born. Sometimes when you are a mother, you just have to bear things for the good of your children. Talk to your OB and see what he feels your options are. He may know of a drug that you can take with minimal risk, but almost any drug you take, you are giving your baby too since most drugs cross the placental barrier. If you wouldnt give it to your baby, you dont take it while pregnant.
Take no chances with this one nessamunson From what i read and remember this is a no no while being pregnant there are much safer just remember no matter what the less the better what the doctor prescribed When i was still working i do remember many pregnant woman use low dose benzodiazipines or several other but only your doctor can tell and prescribe what you need please do not take the one you asked about.way to many problems this is better known as the date rape drug..and seiziures mind problems stay away from anything your doctor does not okay sorry i can't help you more my friend but they can find something depending on how long you are on your pregnancey..congraduations and good luck on your new blessing Chuck Wise sr. I am 8mo's pregnant and suffer from extreme anxiety... up until a couple of months ago, I was able to avoid benzo's altogether... one night I had one that was so bad, it took me to the ER. Needless to say, they gave me iv ativan and sent me home with 4 - 1mg pills. Now, benzo's are a class d, so should be avoided at all cost, however the 4 presecribed to me were recommended by my ob bc she deemed the reward outweighed the risk. being they are class d, I would take a 1/2 pill when the anxiety was debilitating or long lasting. I would look into this as an alternative ONLY when nothing else will do. the attack that led me to the er lasted for 5hrs... while I wouldn't wish these on anyone, you also have to use responsibility and your best judgment only bc your child may develop a birth defect. ketamine is probably a bad idea, I think a low level benzo is actually the better alternative. I totally understand your position and sympathize, I too suffer. good luck mommy, try to find a way to relax as much as possible and enjoy your pregnancy!
