I have been diagnosed with scoliosis and sciatica caused by arthritis, sometimes very severe pain. Would this medication be helpful for my pain???
Keppa XR was released as an anti-epileptic but has proven effective in treating some other issues too. However, many anti-epileptics cause side effects for patients (especially when used off-label).
Sciatica can be helped through exercise, stretching, gentle yoga, physical therapy amongst other options. Sciatica.org has a free 12min workout with pictures you could try for natural pain relief.
Scoliosis treatment really depends on the degree. If yours isn't too bad, then a shoe insert properly fit for you may help a great deal. If it's severe, then wearing a brace for a period of time each day may be what you need. There are other options than medication just to mask the pain because scoliosis won't be fixed by the medication it would be good to also work toward fixing the underlying issue so your not dependent on a medication forever.
If all your pain is nerve based then the medication could help, though something like Gabapentin is generally prescribed more often and as a first try. Fyi it too has a number of side effects you should read about before starting if you do take it.
