Official Answer by Drugs.com 17 Aug 2016

Yes, in May 2016, FDA approved Boehringer Ingelheim-Eli Lilly's Jentadueto XR to be used with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Jentadueto XR comes as a tablet and is given once a day. The extended-release tablet contains 2.5 mg or 5 mg of linagliptin with 1000 mg of metformin XR.
