- anxiety, buspirone, dyspnea
Now My Dr. put me on 20 Mil a day. He said I should feel better within one week of taking it.
My Episodes of shortness of breath keep coming every other day or every .2 days still. the bad part is that they last preety much all day.
My question is usually how long will it take for me to feel real change?
I Have being diagnosed with GAD for the last 6 months.

Is it ok to take Half of one milligram of Lorazepam pill when the episode hits hard only?
will that amount cause addition as long as you use it only when you need it, not every day?
You have a few questions.
Buspirone is a funny med. You have to take it consistently spread out through the day for it to build in your system, usually 1 month. It has a history of either working or doing nothing. I know several people that it works great for.
You also asked about the benzo you are taking. If you do not use it everyday, it decreases the risk of addiction/tolerance. You are being smart by only using it when you have to. There are also off label meds like guanfacine and propranolol that help with the heart symptoms caused by anxiety. It would be best if you talk to your doctor, explain your symptoms and see what alternatives are offered.
Hope you feel better soon :)
