not sure why it only posted part of the question, i need to know if i can exspect the same sideaffects from these pills as the syrups?
There are a number of different combination cough syrups containing Promethazine and other ingredients available on the market. All of these mixtures have side-effects.
By taking the promethazine tablet alone you are exposing yourself to less medications and therefore less side-effects.
Promethazine is used to treat allergy symptoms such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, hives, and itchy skin rashes.
Promethazine also prevents motion sickness, and treats nausea and vomiting or pain after surgery. It is also used as a sedative or sleep aid.
Drowsiness is the most significant side-effect. Promethazine can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Headache, urinary retention, dry mouth, blurred vision and gastric upset are common side-effects.
Promethazine should not be given to children under 2 years of age.
