... controllable diarrhea. Since I take this for uncontrollable diarrhea ... is this a Side Effect? Is it true Crohn's Disease is helped by Cholestyramine? How about Celiac Disease? I realize that the latter can be detected by a blood test. Of course two years ago after the expensive tests showed nothing wrong ... No blood test was ever ordered. I asked for this medicine after seeing it on a TV program. I was not helped by the six doctors that put me through all those tests. Colonoscopy ... Ughhhhhh!
desperateforanswers; Yes this is unfortunately a side affect to this medication. What I do not understand is why the Dr has not tried you on something else for this. I'm sure that they have checked to see if you have a blocked bile duct from your gall bladder. This medication is good for high cholesterol but not to treat uncontrollable diarrhea for this long of a time. If they are not running these tests and simply want to give you a colonoscopy then I would look for a new Dr. IMMEDIATELY!!! Good luck to you
