... person again?? I'm up to 15mg per night. Can't seem to live without it. Its scary. I want out, but don't know how
i would have to say talk to your doctor about weaning you off, i was on seroquel to help me sleep couldnt sleep without it. I finally talked to my doctor because i wanted to be able to sleep normal with no meds and he started weaning me off. Its tough at first but your your body will start getting use to you comming off then for me, the first 2 days of me off of my sleeping meds were hard but ever since then i finally get 2sleep on my own.
I have been on Ambien cr for 7 years (2-12.5mg pills dr prescribed it) I want off of it also. My doctor is helping ( NOT the one who put me on this high dose!!). You may not like my answer, as I did not like it at first. The best way to get off of Ambien after you have been on a high dose for years is to let the dr. switch you to a long acting benzo (such as xanax xr or valium). It will take the place of the Ambien and then they will taper you off of the other. I have been doing this and I have reduced my dose to 12mg ambien and 1mg xanax xr. It will reduce withdrawl. The trick is to not stay on the other drug too long but be aware this WILL be a process. Maybe months. DO IT SLOW. I am doing it slowly and all is well so far. Good luck to you
