So I got my Skyla IUD on October 10th of this year & before I got it, I was currently on ortho evra and it was my patch free week which meant I was on my period when I got my iud. So every since I got it, I've been bleeding/ spotting everyday since then and now I can't tell if I'm on my period or not. So how can you tell if it's your period or just regular spotting. Cause technically, if I was still on the patch, I would still be on my period (which would've been basically over by now)and my new patch day would've been Friday. Any suggestions/ help???
It generally takes 4-6 months for your body to regulate and adjust to Skyla. What I have done is write down in a calendar when I was spotting/bleeding to help keep track. It is now month four for me, and my periods are more regular as far as when it is coming.
The first month I got Skyla, it was a piece of cake. I had a period for five days. The end. There wasn't any spotting or off-and-on bleeding in between there. Month # 2, I had cramps 2-3 days before my period, my period, and then off and on spotting/bleeding for a solid week after my period. Month #3, I had cramps 2-3 days before my period, my period, and that was it. I've been keeping track of everything the entire time so I'm not caught off guard and know what to expect.
