The effect is the same but rate of absorption is different.
The sodium salt and potassium salt used are biologically equivalent. Diclofenac potassium is slightly more soluble in water than diclofenac sodium, therefore diclofenac potassium is more rapidly acting than diclofenac potassium, which is longer acting as it releases diclofenac slowly.
