It's also called osteonurcrosis and it's caused from lack of blood flow. There for the bone dries up and collapses.you can get it in other bones in the body to. It's rarer for a young woman like me(34)To have them in both hips and as bad as they are. I'm waiting on 2 hip replacements.
yes, i too have avascular necrosis of my right hip. mine is on top of the ball joint of the femur where it connects to the hip socket. not sure what to do about it, but hip replacement is an option. know more tomorrow after dr. visit.
i wish you luck, and btw, you said you are “waiting” on hip replacements... waiting, why?
