... frontal temperol dementia. My suggested diagnosis came from the result of a PET scan

Yes, in Nov 2009, I was given the following definitive and EXACT diagnosis, which I'll quote, as follows: "Findings consistent with Frontal Variant of Fronto Temporal Dementia, early stage."
That's not necessarily my full, complete or accurate Dx, as I more or less found out by accident, earlier in 2011. I had just found out about an FTD reference and information site, that as part of signing up as a member on it, wanted you to select, from the available list, your particular type of FTD.
None of the choices on their list came close to matching my above quoted Dx that I'd initially been given. Since I could not complete my registration without making a selection from it, I selected "unknown."
Becoming a member thereon gave me the ability to send messages. So, I then did so, and said I couldn't find my type of FTD on their list, which was exactly as what I'd previously enclosed in quotes much earlier herein.
In due time, they wrote back, and said my quoted Dx that I'd given them was much more commonly known as: "bvFTD."
