I am feeling like I have a bad case of the flu. also dioriented, sleepy
Thinking u meant Cymbalta. Yep I too was prescribed for nerve pain, and also for depressionn. Because I am going off Oxycontin using Suboxone -with Robert's tapering method, the Dr. rationalized that it would be better if I could 1st try to manage my pain, before I had to deal with the pain etc just from the withdrawls, and I agreed. I lasted 3days on it . I have NEVER been that nauseated in my life. way way worse than the worst case of flu. That and migraine type headaches. Needless to say I quit them. As for being sleep and disoriented, hard to say for me, cause was also taking Lyrica at same time and it makes me that way.(have since quit it too). Dr said the symptoms would have 'calmed' in 10-14 days. I couldn't have made it. So now gotta find a plan B. So I guess it's up to you how bad it is and how long u can hold on. Wish u luck.
I was taking Cymbalta for a couple of months for depression and anxiety. It also made me extremely disoriented, I would lose track of time. I have always been on top of things and this was no longer possible. I have since quit and gone back to Welbutrin. Good luck to all of us!!
Yes, I take it, along with Lyrica. I found the Cymbalta to reduce my nerve pain/symptoms with every dose I increased. I didn't have any nausea that you speak of.
I did increase it very slowly - something I learned about my body is that I have to go up/and or down in meds very slowly - over a period of 3-4 months at the minimum. I had a hard time adjusting to the Lyrica - I was so very sleepy - so I took the 50 mg capsule and pour out most of the medication and started with that. Each week I would increase about 25% of the medication, so in 4 weeks or so I had increased 50 mg. Then I would have to wait a couple of months before doing this again. Initially I increased by 50 mg a week till I got to 200 mg and I couldn't even lift my head I was so sleepy. But by doing it my slow way I am now up to 200 mg and am fine.
I've found both Cymbalta and Lyrica to work very well with my neuropathic pain and symptoms. I hope you can find an effective solution for your problems.
