I am currently on 10-Vicodin a day, I started from 1-2 a day back 2-years ago, but as pain and stress picked up. I used them to relax. Now I just want off, I hate the death grip these have on me. I just wanted to know if anyone has followed a great taper off plan. I dont trust going to the doctor and telling them I want to taper off because the doctor who put me on these never really checked up to see if I still even needed them, so last thing I want is to be put on something else to get off of these. I am taking the 7.5/325 norco. I would love it if anyone had some plans or some information for me.
Hello there. I've been in a similar place as you. A taper is hard once your body has a dependence to them. Then they take that evil grip on your body and mind. Terrible, I know but you can get well! I would suggest looking into options one of which is talking to your doctor and working to taper. Joining some kind of support group or addressing it in therapy is going to be very helpful too. I decided the best way for me to get off the opiates for good was to begin taking Suboxone. It helps one get off opiates and really works miracles for many. I tried many times to taper on my own and was bot successful. If you google Suboxone you can read more about it on it's site and find a doctor. Good luck to you :)
