I've got a low thyroid so am really susceptible to fatigue. Everyone's experience is different but so far Lamictal hasn't caused it in almost a year. Topomax actually gave me insomnia, I didn't sleep for an entire month.
Previous meds... Dilantin, Tegretol, Zonegran, Topomax, Keppra, Trileptal... think that's it.
The way a previous doctor explained it to me is this: seizures get controlled by slowing down brain activity. When your brain slows down, everything slows down. The newer drugs are much more specific in targeting so are less likely to cause fatigue. It was far worse on Dilantin than any other med.
