my sister has endrometrious and is afraid that it is going to come back. she has heard from other people that it can come back. she wants to know if it is truly worth all of it if there is that possibility that it can come back.
I have endometrosis, I say have because I had my utereus removed 2 years ago due to endo and fibroids. I kept my ovaries because my doctor didn't want me going menopause. Things were fine for two years but now it seems it's back and I am on depoprovera again, to try to avoid surgery. I guess it depends on what treatments she is considering, but as far as I know if you have hormones there is a chance it will come back.
It depends on what treatment you have had.
Removing the uterus (hysterectomy), both ovaries and tubes give the best chance of a cure for endometriosis. You may need hormone replacement therapy after your ovaries are removed. Rarely endometriosis can come back, even after a hysterectomy.
