The tablets & syrup are similar, but there are at least two types of the syrup that I am aware of. One has promethazine combined with dextromorphan which is promethazine DM similar to robitussin DM & the other is combined with codeine. So I say the tablets are similar but different due to the other ingredients in the two forms of syrup.
