Paracatamol is another name for acetominophen
Is paracetamol and nimesulide necessary in curing Osteoarthirities even if the pain is bearable?
Added 14 Apr 2011:
paracetamol and nimesulide are both for pain but I told my doctor that I am not worried about the pain but the damage that is happening as the pain is a symptom. Still he gave me these pain killers to be taken on daily basis twice and I think he should not have.
As I am in the US and you are obviously not, it is hard to study the drugs you are referring to. If you are not having problems with the osteoarthritis then you should be ok to discontinue the paracetamol (acetominophen) with no adverse effects. The nimesulide is not as clear to me. Is this for the arthritis or something else? I recommend you give the your doctor a call and confirm that you can stop taking these medicines. Better to be safe then sorry.
There is no "cure" for osteoarthritis. The medications are for controlling symptoms only and often just reducing inflammation and pain. If you are able to tolerate the pain then you should not have to continue the medications. I, too, am from the states and I do know about paracetamol but I'm not sure what nimesulide is.
