Today, my physician perscribed my 300 mg of Seroquel -xr for severe depression. I am concerned after researching the medication that this may be very high to start. I have taken 50mg of Zoloft in the past and found this effective. Can you advise me as to wheather or not this is a normal dose to start with.
I think they should start you out at a lower dose and work it up if needed. But have you read about the medication? I use to take 300XR to sleep and it drugged me for 10-12 hours but everybody is different. After a year I got off of it. I didn't like it and thankful found something else. It caused me to have unintentional muscle movements and twitches (like in a finger or toe) plus you can develop other neurological issues. I dropped a glass cup twice cause my hand just let go. It was weird. Just check out all the info online, and good of you to do your research!
Hello ive. No, your dose is considered low on the scale as far as seroquel is concerned. Usually people are started from between 200 to 300 mg. Then if you don't really do well, or improve its upped. Many people usually end up on 600mg, which is considered more the average or norm. Need to remember that zoloft works differently than seroquel does. You'll find that the seroquel will sedate you, make you more sleepy and the possibility of weight gain, is also there. Both are normal and common side effects of the drug. I do hope you find that it helps you.best to you.
