No it is not a narcotic.

Carol, it can cause weight gain through fluid retention mainly.

My friend Rajive is right, tis NOT a narcotic!! I believe it falls into anti-epileptic med catagory, yet I could be wrong on that. Someone that actually knows the answer will be along to tell you what catagory it belongs to.

I just checked (top, Drugs A to Z) and Lyrica is an anti-epileptic med. Def not a narcotic.

So sorry for all the comments yet, are you suffering from side effects of Lyrica? I took it for a short while for Fibromyalgia and had many side effects from it !! Let us know, OK?
