my daughter is taking zoloft and antivan, and bimobo , is these medicine safe ? she has breathing problems [ asmtha }
Hello candyann. Ativan is a benzodiazipine, its used strictly to help with panic attacks and anxiety, Its not an anti-depressant. Zoloft, can be perscribed for depression, as well as anxiety, panic attacks and in the treatment of ocd. (obsessive compulsive disorder) Her having breathing problems will not be effected by ativan or zoloft. I would not mix the two, because she will certainly become sedated and lathargic and possibly have other side-effects. And that will be a problem The third you talked about bimobo, I've never heard anything about this drug. So I can't answer you on that one. So in a nutshell, I'd not mix them unless your doctor is going to moniter her. the best to you.
Hi, Pledge has already done a good job of answering your question, but just to expand... I take 2 anti-depressants, citalopram and amitriptyline, among other meds and i have asthma. Luckily i have had no bad side effects, so it is possible to take more than one a/d without problems.
It's very common for doctors to prescribe an anti-anxiety medication, like ativan, along with an an antidepressant like Zoloft. This is done very frequently when a person is experiencing both anxiety and depression. Just be sure your daughter is being monitored well by her doctor.
Bimobo? Do you mean gingko biloba? If so, that's an herbal supplement. I'd ask your doctor about that. Herbs can be powerful and can interact with prescription medications. You should definitely consult her doctor to see if it's OK to mix that with what she's taking.
Hello Candyann! Yes, you can take two different antidepressants at the same as long as your doctor is prescribing them for you. Does your daughter's doctor know about her Asthma? If not, please let him know. In some medical conditions, there can be certain medications that are contraindicated, due to an adverse reaction that could occur. It is like if you mix two different chemicals together, you could have an explosion. I hope that your daughter's health improves. I wish you both the best! Sweetie Pie
