Glyburide has a FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether glyburide is harmful to an unborn baby. Similar diabetes medications have caused severe hypoglycemia in newborn babies whose mothers had used the medication near the time of delivery.
It would depend on your doctor but personally I would hesitate to take glyburide during pregnancy, unless no other medicines are available. Insulin is the best and safest option for gestational diabetes.
